QUEBEC MEGA TRAIL 2020 EDITION CANCELLED. SPECIAL EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to recent Government imposed measures related to the Covid 19 epidemic, we regrettably announce that the 2020 Quebec Mega Tail edition is cancelled. We fully support these measures as our participants’ and volunteers’ health and well-being is of great importance to us.
Nevertheless, we believe in better days ahead and wanted to provide the trail running community with an alternative for 2020. We are proud to announce we will be joining forces with the Défi des Couleurs Organization this Fall for an unprecedented event.
CÔTE DE BEAUPRÉ’S TWO MOST PICTURESQUE RACES UNITED OCTOBER 9TH, 10TH AND 11TH 2020
Canadian Ultra Trail Running Championships and Canadian Mountain Running Championships, as well as Québec Mega Trail’s popular QMT 50 will be maintained thanks to this unique alliance with the Défi des Couleurs Organization on October 11th, 2020. The mountain should be displaying its finest foliage on race weekend.
Québec Mega Trail is offering 340 additional bibs to runners who would like to participate in this QMT 50 edition. Additional bibs will be given to runners who had already signed up for other QMT distances first.
With this special edition, Québec Mega Trail will be ensuring Canadian elite athletes can qualify and move on to pursue World Championships being held in November in the Canary Islands in Spain.
All other events have been postponed to July 1st through July 4th, 2021. Please mark these dates, it will be a great celebration!
QMT PARTICIPANTS WHO WISH TO TRANSFER THEIR REGISTRATION TO THIS FALL’S 2020 QMT 50 SPECIAL EDITION. QMT 50 2020 participants registration is automatically transferred to October 11th. Other event participants will have the option to transfer their registration until May 31st, 2020. Remaining spots will be opened to all after this date.
Reimbursements will be issued to all QMT 110 and QMT 80 participants who transfer their registration to QMT 50. Shorter distance participants will have to pay additional entry fees to make up for the difference. All participants registered for any event other than QMT 50 who wish to transfer their registration must complete the following form on the email sent April 14th to all 2020 runners.
AUTOMATIC REGISTRATION DEFERAL AFTER MAY 31st FOR ALL QMT PARTICIPATS WHO DO NOT WISH TO TRANSFER TO QMT 50 SPECIAL EDITION (EXCLUDING QMT 50 PARTICIPANTS)
Your registration will be automatically deferred to 2021 if you do not wish to transfer events. There is no need to contact the organization, nor to make any additional transaction.
Quebec Mega Trail is a non-for-profit organization. Our organizing committee is mostly composed of volunteer officers who are passionate about trail running and who have been involved in the community for many years. They have experienced numerous international races themselves and strive to provide our participants with the same high standards they appreciate as runners. This situation is unfortunately out of our control and we will do everything we can to make it up to our runners, even if it means we may be logging an important deficit for 2020.
We recognize our runners may also be going through harder financial times so we do offer full refunds to those wish to opt out.
If transferring or deferring are not options that work for you but you wish to donate part or all of your registration to Québec Mega Trail, you can do so by filling out the form below and in return, we will gift you with a special edition t-shirt as a thank you for contributing to our furtherance.
*Must be done by November 30, 2020
Last and not least, we’d like to thank the Défi des Couleurs organization for their collaboration, as well as the Canadian Trail & Mountain Running Association and the Association of Canadian Ultra Runners for their continued confidence.
Check out the email sent to all participants on April 14th.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of you next year!
