Taking place from <\/span><b>July 2 to 5<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, this <\/span><b>14<\/b><b>th<\/b><b> edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is set to be historic, featuring <\/span><b>the most competitive elite field in its history<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, bringing together nearly <\/span><b>one hundred elite athletes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Driven by a <\/span><b>record 315 registrations in the QMT135<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the return of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/athletics.ca\/fr\/\"><b>Canadian Trail Running Championships<\/b><\/a> <b>for the 50 km and 80 km distances<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the addition of the brand-new <\/span><b>QMT30 to the prestigious <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/goldentrailseries.com\/\"><b>Golden Trail World Series<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well as the presence of athletes targeting points in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/worldtrailmajors.com\/\"><b>World Trail Majors<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> rankings, QMT is set to deliver an unprecedented weekend of competition. While the spotlight will be on many of the world\u2019s top specialists in the discipline, the event continues to offer an outstanding experience for runners of all levels, with a renewed program designed for the entire community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLast year, significant efforts were dedicated to the QMT135, which was entirely new. This year, we wanted to please the long-time community with the addition of stage races, while continuing to develop the competitive side with the arrival of the Golden Trail World Series. The entire team has worked extremely hard over the past year to evolve the event, while keeping local runners at the core of decision-making. The weekend promises to be particularly electrifying.\u201d<\/span><\/i> <b>\u2014 Jean Fortier, General Director and Founder of Qu\u00e9bec Mega Trail<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>A complete race experience, enhanced by several new features<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the 2026 additions, QMT is introducing stage race formats, an intentional nod to the Trans-Vall\u00e9e, the event that inspired QMT. Participants in the Trans-QMT72 will complete on three days a 15 km night run, followed by a 32 km and a 25 km race, while participants in the Trans-QMT90 will link a 15 km night run, a 50 km, and a 25 km race.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the strong success of last year, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCiS9QtcP-yI0KQvjvPnV5lQ\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QMT LIVE TV<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will return in an enhanced format featuring nearly 24 hours of live coverage starting July 3 at 7 p.m. Hosted by <\/span><b>Yannick V\u00e9zina<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Pas sorti du bois), <\/span><b>Nicolas Danne<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (On), and <\/span><b>Marie-Eve Pelland <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Tout.trail), the broadcast will provide in-depth coverage of the QMT135. An English-language broadcast will also be introduced this year, led by<\/span><b> Jonathan Van Geuns <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Waybound Running) and <\/span><b>Ilan Abikhzir <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Altitude Sports), allowing the event to reach trail running fans worldwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ultratrailcanada.com\/en\/infos\/schedule\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on-site festival programming<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Mont-Sainte-Anne will further deliver an experience that is both deeply human and highly epic for participants, volunteers, and spectators alike.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>QMT30: Quebec enters the elite circuit<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elevation gain\u00a0: 1,300 metres<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the major highlights of this 14th edition is Qu\u00e9bec Mega Trail\u2019s entry into the prestigious Golden Trail World Series. QMT will become the only North American stop on the circuit in 2026. On the men\u2019s side, the start list includes <\/span><b>Gill Quinton<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Australia, ITRA 806), <\/span><b>Manuel Anguita Bayo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Spain, ITRA 877), <\/span><b>Robbie Britton<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Great Britain, ITRA 849), <\/span><b>Kamil Lesniak<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Poland, ITRA 883), recent winner of the 100 km Ultra-Trail des Pa\u00efens at Alsace Trail by UTMB (France), and <\/span><b>Simon Withers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Great Britain, ITRA 823). They will face Sherbrooke\u2019s <\/span><b>Antoine Jolicoeur-Desroches<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 761), former professional triathlete, <\/span><b>Victor Larocque<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 798), winner of the 2025 Chihuahua by UTMB (Mexico), <\/span><b>David Savard-Gagnon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 785) and <\/span><b>Philippe Poulin <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(ITRA 743).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the women\u2019s side, <\/span><b>Val\u00e9rie Arsenault<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 729), capable of winning it all as she so often does, is among the favorites. <\/span><b>Anne Champagne<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 664), winner of the 2024 QMT100 MILES, will not give up easily. <\/span><b>Amanda Nelson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 667), Canadian record holder in 24-hour and Backyard Ultra formats, returns after finishing sixth in 2025. <\/span><b>Julie Lesage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 670), <\/span><b>Elisabeth Cauchon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 602) and China&#8217;s <\/span><b>Junyue Zheng<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 606) also add depth to a highly competitive field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>QMT80: major names in Beaupr\u00e9!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elevation gain: 3,370 metres<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mont-Sainte-Anne will host the Canadian Trail Running Championships over 80 km (long trail), in a race expected to be highly unpredictable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the men\u2019s side, <\/span><b>Xavier St-Cyr <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(ITRA 802), breakout athlete of last season and winner of the 2025 QMT135, is highly anticipated. He will compete against <\/span><b>Jean-Philippe Thibodeau <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(ITRA 808), reigning Canadian champion at this distance and Canada\u2019s top performer at three World Trail Running Championships. <\/span><b>Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Cauchon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 833), course record holder on the former QMT100 MILES format,<\/span><b> Elliot Cardin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 841), former UTHC champion, <\/span><b>Benoit Gaillard <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(ITRA 768), and <\/span><b>Dylan Pust<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 809) complete a strong field. The presence of American runner <\/span><b>Dakota Jones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ITRA 887), a legendary figure in global trail running for over a decade, marks a major addition to the men\u2019s field, with podium finishes at races such as CCC (UTMB, France) and Hardrock (United States).
