Big change for Québec Mega Trail! A brand new distance of 135 km will appear from the 2025 edition of the QMT. The QMT-100 MILES (160 km) and the QMT-110 will thus be merged into this same new event. The new QMT-135 will have the town of Baie-Saint-Paul as its starting point and will go more directly to the finish line at the Mont-Sainte-Anne, with a new section in the Sentier des Caps passing through the majestic Cap Brûlé.
An optimal route for a more competitive result
“The idea behind this change is to make the most of the magnificent trails of Côte-de-Beaupré and Charlevoix and to refine our course to offer the most optimal and extraordinary experience for runners! We consulted with athletes as well as our great local trail community and we determined that merging the legendary 100 miles and the 110 km was the best decision to make this race even more competitive. In the end, the runners will tell us if we made the right choice!” – Jean Fortier, general director and founder of Québec Méga Trail
With its 6,000 meters of elevation gain, this exceptional new race will offer a better distance/altitude ratio to the runners. It will become the longest race offered during the QMT. The cut off time will be set at 32 hours and 10 aid stations will be accessible to the athletes in the trails.
World Trail Majors circuit
The new QMT-135 will now be part of the World Trail Majors, taking the place of the 100 miles previously offered to high-level athletes wishing to accumulate points in some of the 10 events on the WTM circuit.
The race will be a qualifier for the Western States 100. It will also allow finishers to collect 5 ITRA points.
The opening of registrations for 2025
The opening of registrations for the 2025 edition of the Québec Mega Trail, which will be held from July 3 to 6, 2025, will take place from August 1, 2024. The first runners to register will also be able to benefit from a special rate “early bird” up to 25%. First come, first served! Quantities are limited.
The distances offered in 2025 will be as follows: 135 km, 80 km, 50 km, 32 km, 25 km, 15 km, 6 km and 1 km. Note that the QMT-10 event will be paused in 2025. Runners are, however, invited to stay tuned: Québec Mega Trail always has great surprises in store for each of its editions!
More bibs!
With the new 135 km and the merger of the 160 km and 110 km races, and with the withdrawal of the 10 km for this edition, Québec Mega Trail will increase the number of bibs available for certain events. Thus, 200 more bibs will be available on the QMT-80, bringing the number of registrations offered to 500. The registration limit will also be increased on the QMT-32 and the QMT-15, going from 300 to 400 places.
